Hi ,

I am new to pigs and just want to know is it ok to worm them with Panacur that is used to worm cattle ?

The 2 saddlebacks are approx 14-16 wks old.

you can use panacur but as it comes in various strengths and applications you should ask your vet for dosage instructions based on what you have. i'm not sure if you can use it in its injectable form as it's normally indicated for pigs in a powder form - some injectable anthelmintics can cause localised tissue problems.

Hi Dara,

Thanks for the reply. I will contact the Vet to make sure. It was the liquid form of dose I was thinking of using cause I would think they would be a bit more difficult to inject that the cattle.
I was looking for a powder form called flubenol but it is hard to track down.

Ive used the ten per cent oral suspension Panacur on pigs without any problems,i was told by a vet that you can't overdose with Panacur, but check up first.

Got a powder called Flubenol from the Vet which is specifically for worming Pigs so hopefully all is now sorted.
