I was just wondering what the cutting cost is in your area . I intend to have some done this year and understand that it will be around 15 euro per small hopper , 33 per large one . The small are 5 rows wide , the large are 8 . I have forgotten how long each run would be ( sorry Phil ! Laughing ) .
And how many hoppers to a "load" ?
A "load" being a trailer measuring ?? what ?? , and stacked 6 ft high with a nice domed top ?
You will gather that I have a thing or two to learn about turf Laughing .

Hi Blowin,

We had some cut this year for the first time.

We paid 45€ per hopper, being 10 lines of something like 100m or more.

Here is what it looks like (not sure if we can get a good idea of how long it is)

We got 5 hoppers cut on our bog .. and a standard turf load would be more or less 1,5 hopper ...

Here is load of turf that we bought the first year we moved in:

Hope this helps.
Camile

Nice pics , Camile , and thanks for that info .
I had some feedback the other day --
small hopper = 5 rows x approx 50 yards and could be done for 15 euro but a lot would depend on distance and access .
large hopper = 8 rows x 80 yards
The going rate at the end of l/yr was 300 euro / load , delivered .
