I suspect phil has spotted that dizandstell has recently signed on as a new member but hasn't said anything yet . Phil is being friendly and trying to encourage him/her to do so .
I will be unfriendly and appoint him/her as Social Secretary ! |

Thanks for the welcome. Sorry for not introducing ourselves. Diz and Stell, moved to just outside Elphin, Co Roscommon 2 years ago from Jersey (Channel Islands) to renovate a 3 roomed cottage on just over an acre. We completed the renovations and extension last Christmas, doing most of the renovations ourselves. Hard work but great fun!!! And we are still talking! We put up a 50' polytunnel in March and are now enjoying our own produce, yummy, and have chickens and geese. The geese have produced christmas dinner, well four of them, the chickens now have chicks and we have just obtained 10 Aylesbury 2 week old ducks. Now it's not aahh it's mmmm. We are trying to be as self sufficient as possible and have applied for a pig herd number, just waiting for the paperwork and then the hunt will begin for some Gloucester Old Spot weaners. Never done anything like this before so we are learning as we go along and forums like this are a fantastic sources of information. Thanks to everyone who takes part. Keep up the good work and we look forward to asking plenty of questions as well as answering anything we can. |

Hi DizandStell, did you move to Roscommon for the drier sunnier weather or for the tax free banking...?
You are both very welcome.
