if there on the surface feeding you need to find out what hatch of fly there is and match it with the artificial equivalent.

A traditional device known as the "otter" . Made of wood . looks like a catamaran about 18" long with wire along each side . Attach line to wire and walk along the bank . The otter planes away from you , out into the lake , like a kite only horizontal not vertical . 15 or so wet flies dropped from the length of line nearest the otter . A local favourite . Highly illegal so don't do it .

An interesting device Wink  I would like to get a look at one of these if anyone knows a web page Wink . I have used an Australian device called a Kon Tiki for beach/rock hand lining. As the name suggests this is a small raft with a sail which takes out the bait and sinker to the required spot. Obviously we need an off shore wind to make it work. This all fits into a back pack which is great for clambering over rocks etc to reach that favourite mark. Good luck Wink

It is not as if this gadget is used to catch fish of a significant size or in waters where the removal of a few for the plate would make any difference other than to the person who is scratching for something to change a monotonous diet . Burgers and chips can get very boring .
Not sporting , tho , and not legal but then not much is these days .

This forum doesn't condone anything which is immoral or illegal but eating burgers and chips is really out of order .
Well , once or twice a week might be ok but anything more than that .......
