Just a quicky........
The blasted crows are robbing a lot of the feed left out for the chickens.
Any idea how to scare a few off/avoid this??
There was a little chicken wire "conservatory" built outside of the hen house which seems to have helped for a while but the feckers are still coming back.

Have the same problem and at 17.50 a bag it really ****** me off.
A friend of mine had good success trapping them. She took the trapped ones on a little drive and released them. Seeing their friends disappear one by one spooked the rest of them very quickly and they pretty much vanished.
I bought a corvid trap last year http://www.trapman.co.uk/corvid-trap.htm but have yet to put it to use... I seem to always need it for something else (breaking broodies, taking chickens to market etc.). My good man has meanwhile been scaring them with a slingshot - seems to work quite well and no harm done - but boy they don't like stuff whizzing past them in the air. |

I made this trap to catch magpies about 4 years ago for around 10 euro.It works equally well on crows. It catches multiple numbers at once, when the first one goes in the rest seem to follow. The trap is the one on figure 3 the conical one.The most i had at one time was 7 magpies. The crows were standing room only. http://icwdm.org/handbook/birds/Magpies.asp _________________ Try Anything Once ! |

The sight of a dead crow hanging up by a wing close by usually sends them packing. Good luck,.
