OK , what do you think of the phenomenon of " Orbs " which occasionally appear on photos ? There are all sorts of possible explanations ranging from the presence of spirits .. to after-images in camera software ..to water on the lense or dust/bugs in the air . I am open minded but I will add that the following images appeared on pics I took up by Loch Easky last summer solstice . They are definitely not stars . There was zero traffic or background light . The air was too humid to be dusty up on the heather/bog . Don't look like midges . Could possibly be water droplets on the lense but there was no trace of distortion on any of the pics which were taken immediately before and after the individual pics which turned out to have orbs on them . They were not visible to the naked eye . I have several other examples from this and another place . Those include some which look something like the orbs but don't have the same "depth or texture " and are obviously reflections . Who knows  Rolling Eyes  .

Interesting, though I can't help asking just what you were taking a picture of?

The sky to the left ( West ) was quite vivid colours , just after sunset , but in the East it was this dense blue/black . I took pics all along the skyline to see what I got . There was no particular subject .
Flash was on auto so , yes , it would have gone off . I can understand that droplets , midge or dust could cause a reflection which might look like those orbs but , as I mentioned , there were none on the pics taken immediately before and after this one ( The first pic is an enlarged section from the second one )  . Could have been a small , localised swarm I guess , which would explain the absence on other pics . On the other hand the air is often thick with insects of all shapes and sizes and I have taken a fair few pics in the twilight like this but only ever got a couple with orbs that look like these .
