Hi All

I an hoping to plant a hedge at my home but the following needs to be done first:
* dig up the ground
* put carpet down to help stop weeds and grass growing
* moving soil from front of house to side of house
* digging holes to plant the hedge
* planting the hedge

I need help...
Can offer volunteers food, hot beverages, alcoholic beverages (after the work is done!!!), accomodation for the night.

Thinking of attempting to do this on either of the following Saturdays:
Feb 7th or Feb 21st

CAN ANYONE HELP???
I live near Ballinasloe, Galway.  Smile

I think help might be on the way  Wink
A man asked me this evening whether we might be able to get a gang together from hereabouts . He is a very nice man btw but too modest for me to feel free to mention his name .
Can't promise but PLEASE post again before you even think about struggling to do it yourself or paying someone else to do it .
Mind you , the cosmopolitan poly-tunnel/tree-feeling/chicken-plucking bunch who I have have met thru this forum can consume an awful amount of tea and cakes in an afternoon so paid labour might be a cheaper option for you ! Standard of work couldn't be better , tho' and most of us do turn up about on time so put the kettle on babylady and suspend any pre-concieved ideas about who or what will turn up . Wink  Laughing
Give us a couple of weeks notice if poss .
Do you have a deadline eg for REPS ? or just seasonality ?

Hi Blowin

Wow I am blown away by your offer of help.

I work every second weekend  - working this weekend - so whenever suits ye to come down would be perfect.

I have a very unsightly view on one side of my house and I want to plant lots of mixed hedging:
1 - to block the view, eventually
2 - to provide a sanctuary for birds and wildlife. I have a very exposed and bare site so very few birds come to visit!!!

Beside me is a field so unfortunately all the grass,weeds etc are smothering the hedge I have put in already. I spoke to a gardener who said now is a good time to take up the hedge.

Need to dig the whole thing up and start from scratch.

I will have plenty of sambos, cakes and tea!!!

SO MUCH APPRECIATED
