I don’t mean genuine members of the travelling community or even the honest entrepreneurs who drop by to see if you have any old bits to sell – good luck to them and although I might not welcome their unannounced visits I would not dismiss them out of hand . I refer to the chancers who eyeball your entire property and take note of any and everything worth stealing before you can ask them to leave .
They are not afraid of big dogs on chains or anything you are likely to say .
Just tell them that your place is infested with rats and they will be out of there in no time ! That is my experience, anyway .

Very interesting .
Is that part of the genuine Travellers' code ?
Would the "pkyies" undestand it any more than they would adhere to the codes of honour which the true "Travellers " followed ?
( Hope I am not being totally non -pc here . Not that I care much about pc for its own sake . Just don't want to imply any disrespect to anyone who genuinely deserves it . ) Not like the feckin w*nkers sorry bankers who allowed the whole world economy to go down the drain while they drew their huge bonuses but were too high and mighty to speak to the likes of us . But that is a digression . I am better at those than at most other things !  Laughing )
