Hi there,

I just thought I would share that with you guys ..

I got from a friend of mine some lovely Belgian Blue beef .. and it is the most delicious I ever got to try ...

as tender and juicy as can be ... a real delight on a plate ..

if you ever get a chance to sample some, do by all means ...

this one was a young heifer just over 1 year and a half ...

Camile

I was curious as to how good BB cattle were in regard to meat quality. With all that rump steak I would have thought that every beef farmer would be producing it but they are not. I know that they may have berthing problems and perhaps this is why they are not wide spread. You say the meat quality is good so it is not for that reason. Any opinions lads?.

I hear from loads of farmers that they used a lot of Belgian Blue through AI as a cross ... don't no the results yet ...

the thing is that it doesn't seem viable commercially as you get the same price for the beast, quality doesn't matter at the factory .. shame really ...

and it helps if the animal as a good coat on it, makes the meat even more tender ..
