Hi my neighbour has taken the engine out of an old car he must have left an uncovered container with the old oil in it lying around because my cat has come home drenched in it, there is only a small strip along his back not got oil on it.
We have bathed him about five times using washing up liquid, but the oil just wont come off, we are afraid of him getting sick. Any suggestions?, we have booked him in the vets tonight but wondered if anyone had any idea.

Can you get to the vets sooner? What has happened to you cat is in fact LIFE THREATENING If you cant get to the vets can you get your hands on some soap the machanics use, if you have help one of you go for the greese removing soap and one stay with the cat to keep it from grooming itself. It will poison itself right sharply with a short spell of grooming
We had one in that state but it wasnt an accedent when he got soaked, some sick whacko had formed a habbit of soaking cats and then setting them alight, alive
As our cat got away alive and was a big BAD tom and was the last cat so treated we recon he messed the sicko up pretty bad but even so our cat nearly died from it.
Good luck with your cat, if you cant get special soap try combing the fur to get as much oil out as you can and then more washing. _________________ The reward for a job well done is more work |

ooo poor cat, I would try to keep him well wrapped in towels to soak as much of the oil as possible while taking him to the vets.
Let us know how he is
