Being brought up on the teachings of John Seymor my land had to be used for food production only. Now getting older and perhaps more sentimental I have just put in a wild flower boarder. This I have placed on a bank to help drainage around a newly dug pond. This was a boggy area
anyway and knowing a bit about natural balance I shall leave the now pea soup to sort itself out. The very expensive "Irish wild flower seed" was broad cast over fine soils and given a light raking as per instructions. Now I have no idea what seeds I have planted but am looking forward to finding out, as I am identifying all plants that grow on my land< How soft an I Very Happy > Perhaps some of us might swap some seed. That we have cultivated ourselves of course Wink

I have just noticed that there is another wildflower site with the same name except that the extension is " .com " ( rather than ".ie" ) .
That one is nowhere near as good as the Irish version , which is http://www.irishwildflowers.ie   .
Nice one Gardener !  Wink

Hi blowin - thanks for making me aware of that - the b***!
I wondered why my web statistics were showing a load of hits from keywordspy. Whoever that .com crowd is they've been trawling my Irish wildflower website for all the keywords that I get found under  ............ Exclamation
