we were lambing yesterday ... and hurray !
our ewe produced a fine pair of twins ! I'm all chuffed !
out in the dryest part of the field, on the finest day of the year so far ... and didn't need any help whatsoeverr ...
one black and white and one mostly black with a few white spots .. they are suffolk x blackface (ewe) and kerry hill ram ..... and look more like kerry hill ...
and the best thing is that they are both males ... so no temptation to keep one of them ... I can feel my freezer packing up !
all are doing well and spent the night in the cattle trailer ...
it's not a bad result I think ... but was somehow expecting another one because she was enormous ...
we helped them suck last night although they seemed to be sucking well on there own .. but had troubles finding the teets ...
spring is here for us !
Camile

they are my image .... cute and fluffy !
it's a lovely sight indeed .... and signs of spring being here .. especially when I came back home tonight to find that the hen that was sitting on top of 2 stacked hay bales ... hatched some chicks (4 out of 9 eggs because she dropped a few eggs .. 2 at least being fertile ...
and ducklings should come within 2 weeks .... if not early ... and kittens too ...
would any one want kittens please ?

Nice one Camile . and you can keep your kittens Not a cat lover at all . With mixed feelings we are about to take four of our goats to the Abattoir once our movement dockets arrive. I would not mind keeping a few Kade lambs myself if anyone knows of any in the SE.
Cheers. _________________ Leave not a trace. |
