Can anyone recommend a meat grinder?
I have 3 pigs to process, and we love sausage...argos have one, but it looks a bit puny to me at 500 watts or so...and i don't particularly want to spend 5k on a catering model...anyone seen anything in between?

Hi David. I have a French one that also has a sausage attachment. It is a domestic model but the business end is cast metal, and electric of course. I think it is a Maulinex! <spelling > Works for me _________________ Leave not a trace. |

Hi David,
I managed to get a new 1000W Clatronic from an ebay shop (Germany) last year for 30 bucks. It works fine. Has a sausage attachment and all. Mind you, we haven't attempted the sausage making bit yet. Just minced all the meat from a 14 months old billy goat.

Hi David,
Bolognese actually, lots of it...
Not bad but not as nice as when they are 4-5 months. The taste is a bit strong but not really "autumn billyish" either. We deliberately left them until late spring after not getting them done in the summer to avoid the bad whiff.

The problem with mine is that the sausage stuffer needs two people to operate. Well this probably is due to my inexperience in operating the thing. I cant seem to master pushing the meat in the chute with one hand and feeding the skins with the other. Anyone else have this problem?
