Is it "new age" hype or just a huge amount of people fearing what will happen with our environment if we continue on abusing it.

Technological changes will of course happen in leaps and bounds, as they have done in the last few years, maybe for the better, maybe not. [I am sure Blowin would like broadband or a telephone signal up in the mountains.]

As for the planet.... She has always managed to deal with the parasites that infect her, wars famine disease, and nature should make a full recovery and any humans that are left might not be so arrogant in the next era.

So apart from the London Olympics and the end of analogue TV who knows?

I don't know what exactly what you are talking about blowin .. but indeed I agree with Quarryman ..

we won't manage to kill the planet we live on whatever we try to do .. I believe that tsunamis and the likes that appears to be getting stronger and more common is nature's way to control the world's population/evolution to something manageable for her .. no matter how hard we try and damaged it .. she'll stand up at the end victorious me think ..

Our Ultimate Reality

First and foremost we still do not know if anything at all will happen on December 21 2012, or at any time in 2012, or indeed at all. We will examine that more closely in just a moment.

But quite simply, if, and only if the prophesies are true, then one of three fundamental situations will likely result immediately before, during and after the 2012 event based upon what we know to date:

1. Human beings will undergo a massive Spiritual evolutionary transition whereby true, Divine, Spiritual reality will be realised and experienced. Focus and abilities will no longer be materially based, but rather Spiritually based.

If this comes to pass, humans will still inhabit a physical body, but the body will assume its true identity as a vehicle of learning. Material things will be seen for the illusion they truly are, and the emphasis will be on "service to others before service to self", and the building of the biblical "kingdom of heaven on Earth", a paradise where selfishness, war and disharmony will be a thing of the past.

2. The Planet Earth, a great, living planetary Spirit, will evolve or "graduate" to the 4th density, the next evolutionary level on His/Her own path of return to The Prime Creator. In this case all organic life on Earth will cease to exist, and will also transition to the 4th or 5th density, the Astral or Spiritual worlds, where life will continue as ever in the Astral or Spiritual body, depending on Spiritual progress.

3. Earth will experience some massive cataclysmic physical trauma which will destroy most if not everything on the planet. If this happens the result will be the same as in possibility 2. above but will happen in a different way. It is likely that all life will transition to the 4th or 5th densities, again depending on Spiritual evolution, before this cataclysm strikes, so there will be no suffering.

We are not intended by the Universe to suffer; all suffering is a direct result of the actions and thoughts of humans.

The most important potential outcome is the evolution of present day human beings; Homo Sapiens, to the next level: "Homo Spiritus".

What other uniting force could be as strong as the doomsday scenario! Perhaps!. I guess from time immemorial someone has come up with a theory and a date. The last Millenium and the dawning of the New age is a case in point. This was all a great disappointment to me. There are those of the Xtian faith that believed that some major happening would occur at the ending of 1999. My brother who is a lay preacher was one of these. Bless him. He would have none of it when I tried to explain that due to Calendar changes over the last 2000 years the actual 2nd millenium started about 43 years earlier. So how does this variant apply to the Mayan prediction?. The reversal of the magnetic field due in 2012 as part of the eleven year circle of the Sun is no big deal. As any radio ham or CB operator will tell you. I must put a sock in it here as this makes me look a sceptic which I am not. I am open to all things but they have to stand up on their own merits. Catastrophes will happen as they always have and they may well happen in 2012 or next year. We know that our life on earth has a sell by date. This may well be 2012 as predicted or next year. So harm none! live a good life and hope for the best. The evidence of existence of us humans on earth only stretches to about 100000 years. Why such a shorter time? Scientists are looking seriously into terraforming other planets, as a bolt hole for some of us to escape to when we finally make the earths environment non conducive to the human race. Have we always done this?? A bit off topic but perhaps a worthy question.

This is a site that will give you an idea of what humans are doing to the other inhabitants of our planet. I think the human population has increased 6 fold in the last centuary. It makes you think what we might be leaving in our wake.
