I was given this carved Oak panel some years ago. Having just rediscovered it I was wondering what its origins might be. Its theme seems  to be that of a Green Jack but not a style that I have seen before. Any ideas lads?

That has more of the devil than a Green Man !
It looks like French or Italian Renaissance style.
Have a mooch on the net, there's some devil carvings of that time period. Is it a door from a cabinet ?
It looks really cool!

I had another look, it probably is a Green Man, and only the old depictions of it have him "vomiting" leaves or roots or other things from his mouth.
What's strange is that the carvings in the corners are really crisp whilst the middle panel is rougher, and nearly looks unfinished.
