I take it that a couple of something over here is not the 2 that we would refer to in the UK.
Our neighbour had their drive resurfaced recently and the contractor had done some work for us in the past, so asked us if we would like the spoil, a couple of tractor buckets full. We thought great a short bit of track to join our track to the muck heap, to save sinking in the mud with every barrow load.
There must have been at least 10 loads and our short track is now called the runway. I don't think the muck heap will ever go that far but sure it will lead somewhere one day. Any suggestions!

I think Phil had a similar experience when he offered to take some tree stumps off someone. Instead of being a few which would be good firewood they turned out to be a lot which were covered in mud and rocks.
I've had it the other way round at least 3 times , strangely for stuff I had to pay for ! The quantities were way below what was promised but, of course, the price wasn't.
At least you (presumably) weren't asked to pay for it. I have sometimes found that "I'll give you ...."  turns out to be conditional upon your agreeing to give something in return. Like cash .
ATB

PS If it course/stoney material you might find it handy as the base for a shed if you could use one at the end of the track.

I think the word "Tomorrow" has the same problem.

Thanks Blowin, it was free so not complaining and it is rubble so quite firm now, but  a shed would have to many 4 legged visitors as it's not far from muck heap. We will think of something, could be a trailer storage area
