Thinking that life in Ireland would be just like SE england but a bit wetter . The locals talk funny and , of course , they're a bit thick . All the non-pc jokes are about that so it must be true .
What a mistake !
Ok , it is wetter .
And it took me a long while to realise that if I couldn't understand them they probably couldn't understand a word I said to them . But they very definitely can !
And I can tell you that anyone who under-rates their intelligence and wisdom about the things that matter in life and on the ground is in for a surprise !
Fantastic place , people , everything .
Thanks for having me !

Mine is that I didnot move here ten years ago. I have many Irish friends in the UK, and so I found the people just as I had expected.
