Hi everyone,
I felt inspired this weekend and made some chick feeder to go in their brooding pen because I was fed up of all the waste they do by scratching and kicking the shop bought feeders.
Here they are:
The big one (suitable 9 chicks and their mum):
A smaller version of it:
It works a treat so far .. and you simply hang them on the wall were you want it .. so that means that you can easily move it up as the chicks grows up .

Nice job, Camile.
They are wasteful little creatures, aren't they?

Nice one Camile. I shall do as much but I think I shall hang it on a rope in an attempt to fool the rats, mice etc. I expect the blighters will learn to climb down the rope soon enough _________________ Leave not a trace. |

wayland, rats and chicks don't get on well, if they can get access to your brooder at all, they'll kill the chicks |

Indeed. I do try to live and let live. I tried this with rats when I first started. Fool me!. Now if I see a rat I grow a pair of hornes . I also intend to keep Ducks soon and they can kill a rat if it is confined. They just stand on it , all of them and it suffocates. This is why I try to keep the feeders rate proof. They will still come alookin though _________________ Leave not a trace. |
