Hello,
Indeed they can be tricky to set .. ask Calli ..
I think they are legal here, as long as they are set in a tunnel and are check twice daily .... the gins are purely illegal though.

The use of snares, traps etc. is regulated under the Wildlife Act. Your local Wildlife Ranger (NPWS) would be able to advise on the legality or otherwise of such a trap and if legal, the way it would have to be placed etc.
