I thought I had posted this a long time ago , but perhaps it was on another forum  Embarassed  .
Do the North Atlantic salmon which get in these rivers return to the sea after they have been upstream or do they all die , as I had understood to be the case with the Pacific salmon which run up the American rivers ? Do they come up and down a few times but only get the red colour and long lower jaw after spawning for the one and only season once they have matured ?

the north Atlantic salmon ,enter freshwater to spawn, after a few weeks in fresh water they turn black.and the cock salmon as the longer lower Jaw before they enter freshwater, and when they have finished spawning they return to the north Atlantic to feed as they do not feed in fresh water, and return the following yr, to do it all over again.
