since it'll be a few weeks til I have my spinning wheel here with me, I thought I'd get back into rug hooking. It's only been 27 years...

No tips on the rugs, but I am interested in the spinning stuff. I may well have some angora and Alpaca wool to process. Perhaps looking forward to some advice on the process etc.

It seems no replies came!  I make loads of rugs in all sorts of ways.  I hook with material or wool or both.  I always make up my own patterns, shapes, etc.  I'll try and put some photos on.  I've just finished one in different shades of brown with a bright red in long wool so it has a shaggy effect.

Did you get your spinning wheel?  How's it going?  I'd love to have a go.

Gina

Thank you e girl, it was one of my more successful efforts.  The design sort of 'happened' as I went along.  Here's another:

I also make bags, wall hangings, all sorts really.  Do you do crafts too?

Those are fantastic . I particularly like the stripey one .
A bit off topic but we got a friend to spin the fur from our dog and MOH knitted a waistcoat out of it . Lovely and soft , not unlike Angora .
The spinner has her own alpacas and Jacobs sheep . She is very modest about it all but I think she must be quite experienced / skilled . She can't access the forum due to poor landline but I am sure we could get her to join us if you were to come here . Possibly for the fungi forage   Rolling Eyes  . I'll call her and see  Wink  .

Gosh, you go to bed at silly times too!  That sounds exciting Blowin.  I have heard of people spinning dog and cat fur.  Do let me know.

Thanks for the comments about my rugs too.
