Hmm , that wasn't supposed to happen !
Let's try Camile's tip for clickable thumbnails . That seems like an awful lot of code to paste but here goes . Should I hit the "Img" button up there ^^ first ?

Don't know if this will work.....
But it did
Click the Img button top right.... this will appear
[img]
then put in picture code...

then close image
[/imp]
Hope that helps, but you'll have to resize for thumbnails.... |

Many thanks for that but now I am even more confused ( nothing personal !!! . ) .
That picture of the pond is obviously too wide for the standard forum page . I have checked its "properties" and it is 800 x 600 px . I will resize it in photoshop but I would like to make that 640 x 480 rather than the smaller thumbnail size . I want the thumbnail size to appear on the forum , giving you the option to click on it to see the bigger version if you want to .
( ok , so I would have to post much more interesting pics for anyone to be bothered to do that , but that is a different issue ! . )
If you already know what to do then I am sure this is becoming very tedious --- sorry about that but I am intentionally recording the details of this learning curve in the hope that it might be of benefit to someone else .
And because I used to be a schoolteacher in a previous life , in case you hadn't guessed ! |

Hello bunch of muppets !
I can't understand what you guys are doing wrong !
Photobuckett is really the easiest way to post pictures.. and you are still messing it up !
as I wrote previously, just tick the box for the picture you want ..
then go down the bottom of the page where it says "generate blabla" ..
just click once on "clickable thumbnails" .. it will copy it automatically (it's done on purpose for "dummies" ...
then just paste in your message and you will have a clickable thumbnail . .
as for resizing, photobuckett does it too .. just open the picture you want in photobuckett, and there is a button resize ..
I think I will to organise a workshop of some sort ...
Good luck guys !
Camile
PS Blowin: we might pop down if we have time and I'll try to sort out your PC at the same time .. but Phil's pc is going to be quite time consuming (2/3 hours I think) .. and we will have to leave for 18h max (not like the last time) |

Oh what a brilliant idea . ( You walked right into that one , didn't you ? ) . What will you call it ? Website design for country bumpkins ?
I think we are getting warmer . I generated blabla then clicked on the title above the code for clickable thumbnails for forums & notice boards ( not the one for ebay etc ) . That highlighted the code but I don't think it copied it automatically so I did that manually as well . Here goes for paste :
Many thanks for the offer , BTW , but it is my IQ that needs fixing , not my pc

Riiiiiiiiiight .
Many thanks for all the tutoring . I just hope I can remember how to do it again tomorrow .
The previous instructions which were pitched at muppet level were a little too advanced for me ! If anyone wants me to add in the notes to bring it down to my normal "idiots guide" approach then please just shout ( and be prepared to be bored to sleep ) .
Meanwhile , where does one find the "Optimisation " which was mentioned ??? I can't see it in Photobucket . |

Gidday
Is it not easier and better to just resize it in photobucket then link it to here.
To resize you get to your album and click on the "edit" thingie above the picture you want to show. That will give you the option of "resizing" then click on the option of "Message Board" then coppy and past the "IMG Code" and if I have any idea of what I am talking about it should come out like:-
