aw, poor lamb, hopefully he/she was ok.
I found a lamb on the beach before, I think he had fallen out of his field somehow as there was a field on top of a short cliff, and then the beach below. I would have brought him home because we have nearly an acre and got him a companion but I was with my aunt and she didn't allow me so I picked him up and but him back into his field If it were to happen again, I definetly wouldn't hesistate in bringing something home, at least I'd know he wasn't ending up on someones dinner plate!

Hi Kerrymaid and welcome to the forum .
Your Aunt may have done the best thing altho it seemed unkind at the time . With the benefit of hindsight I am glad I did not end up with a pet lamb myself . We have had other peoples' hand-reared sheep on our field and they can become a real nuisance when they get to any size .
Having said that I still couldn't walk past one which was in trouble
