Where can I buy one (no good at trying to build one, or do up something else as one).
I hace found loads on ebay in Uk but shipping costs make them dear. I have also tried buy and sell and at the moment only a large one is on offer. I am looking for one for about 3 hens
We are in North Tipp so Tipp, Limerick, Galway, Clare and Offaly are close

Hello,
Indeed if you want to buy one, buy a dog kennel .. for large dogs, so it will fit happily a couple of chickens ..
Then you can make a run around it.
Once that's done, gimme a shout and I could supply you with chicks ! |

we have a kennel from woodies, the biggest they do, and a wooden box inside in which they lay. Himself put hinges on the roof so it lifts up. This has done for 3 years ducks and two years chickens, and (touch wood) it's still good.
any small shed is fine, but it'll need ventilation and a ramp up to the door, and somewhere for them to lay inside. _________________ manure happens |

I wouldn't bother with the ramp for the chickens .. it gives them a bit of exercise `!
otherwise your setup sounds ideal ... |

indeed the best thing is to make them yourself ..
I have another one to do for a chap up the road because he gave me 4 roosters ..
we could do a day out or something -> hen house building !
what do people think ? that would come in handy .. |

I had a look at the kennels in Woodies today and the price of them seems fair.
