Don't know their names , sorry . Am sure they will have one but I think it would be local and the locals just refer to them as the small lakes beside Loch Easky . No specific names are given on the large scale Ord Survey maps I use .
Interesting that they contain so much stringy/floating weed whereas Loch Easky has none . For that same reason I suspect they might contain pike , which Loch Easky apparently doesn't .
If you are a bit of a specialist / adventurist fisherman there is reputedly a lake high on the hill behind ( W of ) Loch Talt which is also v close to here . It takes about 3 hours to walk to it , assuming that you are in better condition than I am ! Talt holds the scarce Arctic Char . The higher one holds an almost unique species called , I think , the gizzard trout --- because it has adapted a gizzard like chooks have in order to process the scarce food source of snails . That lake has an almost mystical local rep but , again , I have heard of a few who have got lost on the way up there but none who have returned with anything any bigger than a tall story !
Alternatively just behind ( NE ) of us are the " secret " lakes . They are know as " Tullevilla " and I think by the same name on Ord Survey maps . Less than 3/4 a mile from the nearest vehicular acces but the better part of an hour's walk over the bog . Nice Bilberries to be found on the journey , and stunning but sparce upland scenery , which contributes to the delay .Supposed to hold big fish but I have only caught tiddlers . Probably my lack of expertise !
Anyway -- If it looks like a few are up for chucking a fly or spinner I'll put up a separate thread under "events " and see if any of us are psychologically capable of dealing with such a degree of organisation since we have become accustumed to the way of life over here |

Hi Bref , You and OH would be more than welcome to stay over anytime we have a spare bed ( or don't mind sleeping on the sofa ) . |

Time to pick on one of our new recruits , methinks . Perhaps this cr@p landline speed is part of a conspiracy to minimise bullying . |

| i have been up at those lakes above talt a good few times. There are two worth talking about one with fish around 7 to 11 inches the other with much far fewer but alot bigger fish. The best i have had is just over two pounds from one of these lakes, but boy did i have to work for it. |

They would count as monsters in most waters around here . Except for the ones which got away , of course !
What were you using ?
Ps I had found names for the small lakes on Ord Survey . Will go find it and post up . |

Nope I am not . I am absolutely certain that someone else got nominated after I lost the job . Don't argue or I will get my mate in Admin to nominate you again . Then nothing will happen ever again ! |

I'm sure he is . He now sleeps on my bed so I have to sleep in his because there is no room on mine . So I can't allow you to sleep atop of him because that would be in the same bed as MOH and that really wouldn't do !
