i remember when i was younger i would get a bolt tie it on to twine and put some bacon on the end head to the pier and i wopuld come home with 15,20 crabs in around 30 minutes .not as big as outer see one but still its a meal and fun too

Yes as kids we did this also. They all went back though. We never gave it a thought to eat them.
