wildflower meadow seed -- read the label !

I was planning to scatter some wild flower seed and found this site on google : http://www.wildflowers.ie/mix_damp_soil.htm
That mix looked good -- until I read the impressive list of species it contains . It includes Marsh Ragwort ! . This link will tell you what Teagasc think about that ! http://www.teagasc.ie/advisory/factsheets/ragwort.htm
As if that wasn't bad enough it also includes yellow Iris . Sure , they are pretty when in flower for a day or two but they are a nightmare to get rid of once established .
In fairness the Wildflower site does give cautionary advice and I am sure you get exactly what they say you will ie a traditional hay meadow . But I for one can do without the tradition of making sure you pull all the Ragwort before it flowers ! Laughing
