We should start a thread about the wierd stuff we have come across on our land. !!!!!!

The rear half of a lamb, partially buried. One of our dogs started to sniff around some ground under the big Beach trees, she then came in to the house, very excited with a "look what I have found" jumping up and down tail wagging, air about her. I followed her up to the beaches and saw a bit of ground had been partialy hollowed out and a dark lump of God only knows what in it. When I disentangled it, it was the rear end of a black lamb, probably buried by a fox. We have 3 acres around the house closed in with deer fencing so the dogs can't get out but we have found Fox droppings on top of rocks and logs. How it is getting in we have no idea. The nearest sheep are miles away.

The other thing is loads of old whiskey bottles in the walls of the old sheds, empty ones by the way.......

A dead telegraph pole !
One day it was standing there , bolt upright . The next day it was flat on its back with absolutely no sign of life at all !!!  Wink  Laughing  Laughing  Laughing

Hello,

I have seen them bottles (not in our place though) ... and the farmer told me that's what they used to do to save on concrete, putting bottles, stones and metal ....

I have found a couple of Bristol Blue bottles which are collectable plus stacks of the old 2 Lb (?) jam-jars which have a certain character . The way the rim is rolled over at the top never fails to remind me of minnow-catching with a bit of string tied around the jar . They look good in the pantry , too , so I will sterilise them and put them to use .
More unusual was an interestingly shaped wine bottle which was full of clear liquid , with the cork replaced . It was almost hidden by moss laying on a rock in the Faerie Wood . The liquid turned out to be putteen ( ? ) so it was almost certainly the first of the liquid which came out of a still . This is traditionally given to the Fairies to ensure that the rest of the brew is good  Wink
