welcome from another foreigner

Hi, only just found the website through someone that bought bonhams from us (Hi David Egan) We have lived here for nearly five years, across from busy lives in the UK to enjoy a quieter life, as you can see we were both delusional as we both work harder now tending our 3 acres, rebuilding the old stone cottage and rearing our rare breed pigs (Gloucester Old Spots), but I would not go back for all the tea....(you get the idea). We bought  a small stone cottage with a tin roof in the Slieve Aughty mountains in Co Galway nearly six years ago and despite the land being "slightly" wet we are loving it, the cottage is nearly done and its very comfortable. Currently in conversion to organic status, we sell pork, bacon and bonhams usually through word of mouth, we usually have geese for xmas. Razz

Hi Peter

Welcome to the "slightly wet" Wesht and to the forum. You will be in very good company here, judging by your livestock.

Thank you for saving yet another run down Irish country house.

Hi and welcome Lyallp. Many of us here are renovating or at least talking about doing it. The west seem`s to becoming a GOS hot-spot. I will be wanting some weaners this year. Wink  Good luck.

Hello and welcome to the forum!
May well be looking for some piglets later in the year...will you have any available?
And also...do you cure your own bacon?
If so, where do you purchase your salt from?

Regards,
Phil
