Thank you Admin and HelloI have been lurkin on and off since I discovered this site (via Downsizer) in December. When I finally got it together to join in the chat I found that not only could I not log in (email not on data base) but when I tried to re-register I had no luck either (email name already taken) so a big thank you to admin for a fast solution and now that I have dropped in to say thank you I guess I should really say hello.
I live on a 1ac plot in Connemara and the only livestock is one dog. He and the wild mink in the area are making the desire to have chickens quite a challenge so I think the self suffiency in veg will have to be the mid term goal. It is great to see an Irish forum like this one and I am looking forward to getting to know and to learn lots.

Hi Sprio , that was a bit of a game , eh ? . Glad you got back in in the end . I am still trying to escape . You were supposed to leave that secret door open .
I think I said that the ultimate test to determine whether the you you say you are is the you we think you are .... is whether you , whoever you are , could be our new Social Secretary . Whatever that is .
I think the other members should vote on it .
Welcome

I read a discussion yesterday (possibly on the selfsufficientish forums) that goats or alpacas (which sound horrendously expensive btw) are good to have to protect your chickens from foxes and the like. Might be worth a thought!
Welcome.
