Go carefull with the snares! They can be a double edged weapon in the pesters cupboard! Its not easy getting your friendly land owners prize stud bulls tongue out of a rabbit snare! The price of it will double as soon as it starts to bellow in pain. As soon as you put a wire out for Fox, you will find a suicidal Badger with every anti on speed dial in your snare! There is usually only one way to get Brock out of a wire. Not good for field sports PR.
I have got a video on the subject somewhere. You are more than welcome to loan it. Its mainly on fox. It confirmed to me the way i was being taught as a pest contoler was the most humane way using snares. It might take me a couple of days to find as most of my stuff is still in a container.
Learn how to read the ground sign. Coney will leave distinctive high and low marks in the grass. Place snare 2 fingers higher than the high spot in the grass. This ensures it is going upwards and is less likely to tighten snare between front and back legs.
