Hobby Horse Toys

If you would like to buy a toy thats made in Ireland, by a craftsman with an ecosensitive outlook, visit Dan Hillmans (my husband!) 'Hobby Horse Toys' website and blog. Many of his paints and varnishes are organic and eco-friendly.

These are the toys for you if you wish to avoid factory mass produced items with thousands of air miles and little thought for the environment in their production. Dans product range is constantly changing in design and he is always sourcing his materials as locally as possible. Even the wood he favours is windfall Leitrim timber.

Every item is hand crafted and hand finished, no two are the same. From hobby horses to coat racks to pull along toys and wooden cars ... come and window shop at www.hobbyhorsetoys.com or visit his almost daily fly on the workshop wall blog at www.hobbyhorsetoys.wordpress.com

Dan is always delighted to receive enquiries at dan@hobbyhorsetoys.com or tel 071 9632212 from Ireland, or from abroad 00 353 71 9632212

Yep thyy are our little ones! ... they are also our hobby horse quality control department!

Dan is originally from near Padstow, well Cornwall anyway ... a village on Bodmin Moor. I met Dan when I was at Uni in Plymouth, I lived there for 10 years, worked at the Plymouth Marine Lab. I met Dan when we were in Cornwall surfing, camping at Porthcothan.

I`ll not use the words "Beach Bums" Laughing , but I know Padstow quite well, as I do Boscastle. It is good to see the village recovering from the great flood. A lovely part of the UK me thinks.
