Hi and welcome Newboy. I will be getting into pigs and bees this year also. Once the last of the goats have gone. Good luck. We need newboys and girls on this site as most of the old ones are not here any more.

We do intend to get some pigs this year too .. as for the last 3 years ..

Welcome to the forum where abouts are you based.

Hi Gang, i'm close to Watergrasshill in Cork, only 6 girls at the moment, 3 Light Sussex and 3 welsummers, getting approx 3 eggs per day, which isn't bad for January i'm told, going to buy in a few fertile eggs in March as i'm sure one of the LS will go broody.

Have to say it's been a joy getting the girls  Laughing , the kids think it's cool to collect their own eggs, even the OH (who thought i was mad) has now decided that it was a really positive move on my part to get them.

If fact she got me a Bee keeping course for my Xmas present as i'm really looking forward to our own honey  Very Happy

Still i think it might take a little while to talk her into getting a couple of pigs!

Welcome to the forum  Wink
You will almost certainly find that someone will let you have a few young birds if you have any trouble in hatching your own .
patmk

high newboy, patmk here.  I got pigs for the first time four years  ago.  I found  an electric fence with a wire 8 inches of the ground works brilliant after a two years   put your veg in and you won't believe what you can grow their.
I live one mile from a  pig   farm to control disease they got seddleback cross for me so I wouldn't bring them in myself . I was glad to help them.
a neighbour of mine who  grows veg for  the country markets  gives me loads of  veg for my pigs.
