hello fuchsialady

Hi there , Fuchsialady Very Happy . That is a very subtle way of correcting my spelling mistake Rolling Eyes Laughing .
Nice choice of music , too , on account of which you have been granted relief from being appointed Social Secretary Wink Very Happy .

But we will be looking for a DJ if we ever get a Soc Sec who can organise anything !
Don't worry -- you will have more than enough time to come up with the traditional excuse for why none of this should ever happen to you Laughing .

Haha , it's an " affinity " , but I didn't write in order to correct your spelling either Laughing . It is the taste of fuchsia berries which really interests me ( see separate thread ) . Do you have any experience of these as a food item ?
Do you have cuttings ? Cool Cool

fuchsia berries

I have been growing fuchsias for years and didn't know you could eat the berries. Shocked I looked under 'Fuchsia berries' on the net and came up with some interesting sites about them. Apparently you can make jam and wine out of them and they seem to have different tastes for different plants. I don't know if I would like to try them or not. Mr. Green

Hello Fuchsialady.  My husband was in publishing for the horticultural industry and he used to go mad at the number of times fuchsia was mis-spelt!  I hope I've managed it correctly!  We have 5 acres here and loads of the perennial fuchsias.  We also have some of the more tender varieties and both of us love them.  They also seem to survive the winter quite well nowadays, which is a real bonus.

Good to meet you.

Hi BT,
Nice to meet you too. I just grow fuchsias for myself. I love them so much. They are my favourite plants. Do you sell your fuchsias and do you have a catalogue for them Question  Please let me know. Thank you.
BT Graney

Thanks so much for the welcome.  Oh no, we don''t sell them, they're just here!  We've both retired and don't really want to get into selling things unless we run out of money!!

I make some craft items and have sold some of them, such as my rag rugs, but that's about it!

Hi Gina,
I make some crafts myself like teddy bears etc. What other crafts do you do Question  I am near retiring age myself. If I live until next Sunday 9th I will be 58. Nice to see other older folk on the internet. Very Happy

Crafts

Hi Jackie
Thanks for your reply.  I have done all sorts of crafts.  I tend to get a bit fed up with one thing and have a go at another!  I've made cards of course.  This is the first year I haven't made my Christmas cards, with moving between the UK and Ireland it's been a bit hectic and Christmas has crept up on us.

I did a textile course at college and from that I went into making bags.  I weave them, so it's a bit time consuming.  Jim and I did a basket weaving course a couple of weeks ago as our land has about half an acre of willow on it.  I've just had a big knitting month!  Papier mache.  That's about it!

I will be 60 next year.  That seems very old!  But I don't feel it and I suppose that's the main thing.  Have a great birthday on the 9th.

All the best

Gina
