Hello from Co. Galway ..Good morning everyone,
I'm Camile and live in North East Co. Galway, bordering Roscommon.
I'm french and live with my OH who is french as well.
We moved in the cottage with 0.8 acres a bit more than 2 years ago.
We are into "eco-friendliness", livestock, gardening, craft, DIY etc ...
We currently have a good few animals, some being pets, the other ones orientated to food (Breeding stock and food).
We have a good few chickens:
3 x Rhode Island Red hens, 1 Ancona hen, 1 naked neck rooster, 2 x Light Sussex X Orpington, a "heinz 57" rooster, 1 Silky hen with her brood of 6 chicks (a bit more than 2 weeks old), 1 silky X rooster.
Plus 3 Roosters that will end up in the pot in the coming weeks ..
We also have a trio of guinea fowl
a trio of geese
1 ewe that we want to breed rather soon now
2 goats (1 wether and 1 nanny)
4 rabbits (parents and 2 bunnies)
3 cats (plus the 2 feral that are not feral anymore)
1 Border Collie X
We have a space alloted to the veggie patch, but didn't have enough time this year to get a proper crop but we got a good few lettuces, courgettes, leaks, radishes, strawberries, beans, corn, beetroots, cabbages)
But I'll have way more time next year to focus on it ... as now the livestock is kind of sorted even though it will always be a work in progress ..
I made the henhouses myself and they copped with the gale force winds we have so if anyone needs help, we can even setup a poultry workshop if anyone is interested ...
We plan on getting ducks for next year as well ..
We are looking into building an extension to our cottage (between 200/300 years old thatched cottage) ... included solar evacuated tubes and the likes ..
We recently had to redo the ridge of the thatch, and the thatcher is actually taking me under his wings for the next job he does .. so I might become a qualified thatcher .. and will be able to redo my own roof when time comes ..
And that's about it for now .. let me know if I can post pictures because I tend to post loads of them so I'd rather ask first !

Hi again,
The billy is a Saanen, and the nanny must be an Irish Feral Goat (we got her from the ISPCA).
You will learn than allowing me to post pictures might turn out to be a problem ! so here are a few not in any particular order:

Very nice Camile. Did you get your Guinea Fowl local to you. A fine tasting bird me thinks. I shall get some in the spring if I can locate some
