EggsI need help! I need your experiences, and reasons on this subject please folks. Its to do with which end of the Egg you tackle your bioled egg from. Once apon a time, in a land not so far away, when less confusion ruled my world, whenever i ate a bioled egg, i'd always start with the narrow end, Simple. Then, for some strange reason, after having my eyes opened to possibility of 'egg decappitating choice' thanks to the demented writter of 'Gullivers travels', i decided to step out of the box, and try the other end. Then it started. To cut a very long and worrying story short, i now alternate the end i start with everytime, and whats worse, always feel that the other end may have been better. Both have thier advantages, but i really feel now, that after 10 or more so crueling years, i really need to choose. I dont suffer from O.C.D, and as far as i know, i'm not mental. I'm a happy human being, apart from bioled egg time. Please can someone assist me in this decission, with the compasson, empathy, and information such a screwed up condition deserves.Many thanks to all who have hearts, Tip of the Hat, Space Cowboy. |

Hello
I prefer mine boiled with the tip of the egg downward .. then I cut the top open and that way the yoke is at the bottom of the egg .. is it just me ? Camile |

All the dogs on my planet come from eggs.It has something to do with the lack of a Thermoshpere and a very thin Troposphere. As a space traveller you probably know the effect this can have on mammal type creatures.

AFIK any fresh egg will lay in the pan in a horizontal position . If one end rises it is usually an indication that the egg is getting old . Any egg which stands on end would be horrible to eat . So , this is either a difference between the French and the , er , civilised pallette , or , more likely, just a matter of translation in context ( like the debate about hunting / shooting ) . Personally I think that one has to open a boiled edd with narrow end up . Any othe custom is barbaric -- especially raw egg in tomato juice with Worcester sauce and a double shot of Vodca -- for the " morning after " . Leave out the egg and that much better IMHO . But soldiers of toast into a nicelly done soft boiled egg are lovely .

I cant top that Quarryman  . I cut the pointy end but my grandmother would peel the shell, and it would be the rounded end that she would peel. This is made easier as the air chamber is at the rounded end and easier to stick the spoon in. My OH cuts the round end and says that I am doing it wrong.  . Never says why though.

Ah yes Quarryman, it is indeed to do with Thermosphere and Troposphere, but mainly its the Thermosphere that plays a large part in your 'peoples' embrio development. We could discuss further if you wish? Are you of a spotted, or plain shell?
And Camile, what an intreging fashion you have with your egg boiling. -how do you keep the smaller tip down, rather than the usual sideward or bottom heavy approach? Tip of the Hat... |

Camile!! This is no place for Micky taking....this is serious shit! Since i first started getting responses from you all, i've had my head Scrambled! Its Eggstreamly infuriating to feel you're not taking it for real, alwhite!?! I can shell that you're the kind of yolk that unless you come up with a cracking idea, something eggcellent, then you tend to keep your eggs all in one basket. I am correct, or have i just been flipped??
