Bread making (french baguettes) workshop

Good morning,

Would anyone be interested in a baguette making lesson ?

it's just that more and more people ask me for the recipe, and there is some sort of a knack to it ...

it would only be 2/3 person at most at a time ... due to the restricted worktop, and you could bring the fillings and refreshments, and that would be it .. It's no aimed to be anything commercial, no money involved ... except the cost of raw materials which makes you understand how cost effective it is to make your own.

would anyone consider doing it ?

no dates or anything fixed yet, it's more to get an idea of the interests, and we can then work around it.

Hi Camile, after our recent visit and the brief instructions you gave Derrie, we now have lots in the freezer. Even I have made a batch...... !

Yes please  Very Happy
Camile

Hello,

I didn't have much interests so far from this forum, but a lady doing cookery classes in town has asked me to come and do a session for her.

happy days ..

so it's just a reminder that I could organize something for the forum members if there was some interests.

Here is an idea of what you could make:

this is a batch that I have sold to my previous colleagues back in Galway, and now have to do about the same every friday to keep up with the demand.

On the left are the baguettes, on the right it's the Pain viennois.

I might ahve seriously cosnidered coming over for that; baguettes are soemthign I've not made and really should have a go at. Can you let us know if you think of doing it again/some time? Thanks.
Camile

Hello

If you do come over give us a shout and we will work something out.

I can tell you that Camile's bread is excellent .
It freezes well in a partially cooked state and is easily finished off in the oven whenever you want it .
Camile

Thanks Blowin for the kind comment ..

You can come and pick some up anytime you want ..

And no problem Marie .. will organize something ..

Tomorrow I have to make a bread making workshop with 30 kids in a village near us .. sounds like fun  Shocked

Hi Camile

Do you have a blog or website about making French bread?  You could do your bread making lessons online then, and I'd love to give it a try.

I think I'm pretty good at cooking but would admit to not being much of a baker.

Thanks

Kay

Hi Kay,

I'm afraid I don't have anything online for baking bread .. but could be an idea for the long winter nights.

I've made a few videos and will try to put them all together and make in understandable.

I've just finished baking my friday order .. I made 42 baguettes and 19 pains viennois .. I'm knackered now ..

It's really easy to do .. just needs a bit of power in your arms ..

@ Phil  Laughing My husband has been cursing Thierry Henry for the last two days.

@ Camile  The video idea sounds good.  I tried and failed miserably, and no one could understand my accent.  Smile  (I'm Scottish.)  I have loads of websites, though so if you need any help on that side of it, gi's a shout.
