Blueberry seeds.

Its a fiddlin job trying to get the seeds out of blueberries. So in desperation Evil or Very Mad I put the berries in a liquidiser with half a pint of water and gave them a good whizz. The result was a dark red liquid with hundreds of seeds floating about in it. Very Happy This I poured in lines on top of compost. Looked good as the seeds are easily seen against the dark of the compost. The problem was that after the liquid ran out there were thousands of seeds left in the jug. So adding more water removed some of these but not all. This could go on for ever I thought which was no bad thing but I was wondering if I mixed flower with the mix, into a paste. Perhaps I could sow the seed with one of those bag things that are used for cake decoration. Germination of these seeds is something else Confused I am thinking ahead here but how about sowing carrots etc this way?

Probably better not to mix the seeds with flour as you'd maybe attract mice....what about letting the seeds dry and then mixing with some fine sand?

Hi Gardner. I have done the sand job in the past which works fine. The reason I thought of mixing flour with the juice was to make something like wallpaper paste. I remember in days gone by my Grand father using flour and water for the job. The idea was to squirt something like this into the drills which would spread out the seeds. I have no idea if mice would be attracted to the paste.!!! Maybe they will. This would not be a problem in the seed trays in the poly tunnel but on open ground. Perhaps.
Thanks for the advice Wink
