A sturdy farm gate ..Hello .. me again ! I feel inspired today !
I had fun last week making a nice sturdy gate that the goats wouldn't jump over or open up !
It's made out of 3 x 2 timber .. so it's nice and heavy, and you can climb over it without any problems ..
I got the plans and modified them from this book: http://www.amazon.com/Smallholder...=cm_lmf_tit_3/102-0928227-7013723
It's a nice little book indeed ... I made the sheep through from it too about a year ago .. and it's still going strong even with the kicking it takes from the goats every day when it's empty !
And you can also see the "dodgy / wobbly" table I made for the goat in the background of the picture .. out of all the bits and pieces of wood laying around .. the billy loves it .. and spends a good part of the day on it !

Looks great. I usually have the bottom rungs closer together to keep the youngens in. Great job though. Was it your own wood?

good thinking about the bottom ones .. but so far there is none .. and if it comes down to it .. I can always had one ..
thanks for the tip ..
and we don't have any wood unfortunately .. this is just the ancient hedge of the field that needs a bit of work to it .. and if you meant the wood for the gate ... it's just timber length from the building supplier ..
