*$"*IN* rainOK .... I know it's what makes Ireland the emerald isle and all that, but give us a break 
Month after month we seem to be having twice as much rain as the long-term average and still the *$"*IN* rain keeps coming and only a week ago we were so cold I had to light the fire .... in June for chrissake.
When they were handing out the benefits of global warming, Ireland was obviously at the back of the queue

Long term "they" suggest that global warming will bring longer hotter Summers to Ireland and the East Coast will start to suffer water shortages and the West will have wetter Winters and hot dry Summers. So start getting ready to store water for use on the land. We are looking in to a high gravity fed system.
An economist, who seems to have a reputation for being spot on in his predictions, has given a forecast for Ireland in another 20 years.
The East of Ireland will be a high density populated business area with nothing but commuter belts and business parks while the WEST will become a Switzerland type of area, with the wealthy moving West away from the over populated east coast and the west becoming a centre for arts, culture and eco-tourism. More and more people from the UK might also be seen to move to the West for the quality of life as France, Italy and Spain will become too hot and dry.
We shall wait and see.
