A couple of years ago there was a publicly viewable web site that showed the density and danger levels of plankton around the coast . I think this was for the benefit of the shell-fish breeders . It was a good indication of whether it should be safe to collect eg mussels . It seems to have disappeared , or , at least , become something you have to pay to see. Do you know whether there is still a free one out there ?
NB: not strictly speaking "plankton" but similar . Can't remember the long name !
