Good morning,

I was wondering if it was ok to feed the sheep with silage ?

because a friend of mine has dropped me a nice big round bale ... and that would basically feed them until lambing ..

what do you think ?

Thanks
Camile

Hello Camile.
Yes let them have it,but once a bale is opened it wont last much more than three weeks, you can use any left over silage for bedding and then compost it.

Thanks Phil,

It's a shame though that it's only good for 3 weeks after opening it .. because they will never go through it that quickly ..

and I was thinking to put that store-lamb in the store room in a little while ...

Keep feeding it to them for as long as they are willing to eat it.

That's a kind offer but for what its worth you would spend more on petrol.
