Just thought I'd share a very simple recipe for this Italian liqueur that can still be made and ready to drink for Christmas.
7 unwaxed lemons
1 litre vodka
1 litre water
700g sugar
Get the peel (no pith) from the lemons. I use one of those zester things available in any cookware shop. Soak the peel in the vodka for 2 days.
Boil the water and dissolve the sugar. Leave to cool overnight.
Strain the vodka into the sugar water, mix thoroughly, chill in the freezer, and enjoy!!
This recipe makes just over 2 litres, and is so simple it can't go wrong
It also doen't last too long
