Her indoors [ she who thinks she must be obeyed ] wants to know if anyone has any really good ideas for elderberry jam, eg. add half a bottle of whiskey to the fruit etc.

Best idea will win a pat on the back from Blowin and my undying gratitude.

Michael.

Haha , this isn't one of those competitions which have already been decided is it ? They seem to be quite topical so far as the BBC and others are concerned . Laughing
My suggestion is to drink the whisky and leave the berries for the pigeons Wink .

We made some two years ago mixed half and half with gooseberries. It was very good. It both looked and tasted like blackcurrants though. It makes a fine jelly also

Make jelly, not jam. The seeds contain a compound which can make you feel rather ill.
Elderberry and apple go nicely together, as do elderberry and rum. Wink

The Jelly seems like a good idea but the rum sounds like an even better idea !!!

Thanks for the suggestions.

Michael
