Hello everyone,

I have a good few surplus hens if anyone fancies some ..

They are mongrels, various crosses between orpingtons, Light sussex, naked neck, Rhode Island Red, Ancona.

They have lovely colors, loads of them have shiny purple feathers ...

Most of the parents went broody on me except the Rhode Island, so there is some potential for future broodies in there me thinks.

Also, they are highly suitable for free ranging, and would supposidely make good eating birds too as they are all large fowl of renowned eating quality. And good layers, so they should be some sort of good dual purpose breed.

They can be sold, exchanged, barterred .. any offers will be considerred ..

Parents stock can be seen ..

oh the rooster are definitely going to the pot ! I'm not a wuss ! that's why I don't have as many chicken as you ! Wink

and we sold 3 x 10 weeks old pullets for 20€... so not a bad deal for mongrels ... that largely coverred the bill for raising the whole clutch .. maybe 2 of them ..

and we now have 2 more chicks .. 1 or 2 days old .. and some more in 2 weeks time and I expect the worse (6 chicks as the silky is sitting on 6 eggs) .. so the add might stay open for a while ..
