I do not approve of farming mink for the fur trade and would support legitamate protest against it but if it is true that animal rights activists have released these animals all I can say is that they need their heads examining . Do they have any idea of what a non-native species which has no natural predator can do to indiginous wildlife , let alone domesticated birds and animals ? F%ckin idiots .
But thanks to them for allowing me to aquire a couple of mink tails to use for pollinating flowers in the poly tunnel . Bunny tails are the traditional thing for that purpose but , of course , there aren't any of those around now .

Nice idea
And perhaps I can get some dangly bits from the idiots who released them .
Took a piglet ? Doesn't surprise me but that is the first time I have heard of that . Perhaps because there aren't many piglets around here anyway .
I have heard plausible reports of them killing lambs and , indeed , one of my neighbour's cats . I don't think it was a tall story of the kind which are even more common than the mink
Surprisingly they aren't listed on the Fisheries board list of invasive non-native species . I wonder why . It just happens that the mink farm near here is owned by a close relative of a prominent local politician and another close relative is a senior enviromental ranger . Nah , there cannot possibly be even the basis of a conspiracy theory there . They are all totally innocent . |
